Our Staff

Equity is a family-owned business, and we owe our continued success to the skills and dedication of our employees. We're proud of the little community we have here at the shop! Allow me to introduce some of our staff:
  • Dan Click to e-mail and Margot Long Click to e-mail
The owners of the company. Dan is also responsible for estimating and sales, and Margot is also responsible for accounts payable and receivable. They founded Equity Cabinets in 1980, and are proud of their continued success in a competitive industry during the last 25 years.

  • Tony Tarabbia Click to e-mail
Tony is the shop foreman, and is responsible for guiding each job through the process of manufacturing and installation. He is a master craftsman who is especially good at making custom fixtures. He also fills the roles of instructor, load supervisor and sawyer. He keeps each person in the shop lined out on their next task and trains the newer employees on how to efficiently build great cabinets. His extensive practical experience allows Tony to make each job run smoothly and efficiently.

  • Kevin Long Click to e-mail and Rowan O'Brien click to e-mail
Kevin and Rowan comprise the drafting and stockbilling department. They use modern tools such as AutoCAD and CabinetVision to take the customer's ideas and the architect's concepts and turn them into working shop drawings. We rely on the drafting department's keen eye for detail and extensive experience to design and submit even the most complicated project. In addition to being the lead draftsman and engineer, Kevin is also known as "Mister Wizard" when it comes to fixing tools and equipment, and handles all minor tool repair.

  • Dustin Long Click to e-mail
Dustin is the estimator, and it's his job to provide pricing and customer service on new projects. With a giant stack of catalogs at his side, he tracks down price and availability for each potential new supplier. In addition to estimating and sales, he's also in charge of the telephones, e-mail, and web site, plus the computers and peripherals.

  • Greg Jovien, Joe Johnson, and Ron Underwood
Greg, Joe, and Ron are our "bench men" with nearly 100 years' combined experience. They are the craftsmen who have the skills and patience to turn the most exotic project into a reality. They're all three skilled in cabinetmaking, veneer and laminate work, and various useful things such as joinery, bent-lamination, and even carving.

  • Omar Palomino
You can't build great cabinets without accurate, consistent parts. As the millman, Omar takes the raw material from our suppliers and the cutbills from our drafting department and cuts out each part required for a project. While other shops have started to "outsource" their millwork overseas or to factories, Omar cuts each piece in-house. This provides a level of integration between the mill and the assembly tables not available any other way.

  • Felipe Perez-Cruz, Carlos Morales, and Eleasar Melendez
Accomplished in their own light, these three guys are also learning various aspects of the trade. Carlos runs the computer-controlled point-to-point drilling machine and Felipe is in charge of the edgebanding department. Eleasar is an apprentice, and beginning to learn the various aspects of the shop. They're also called on to perform finish sanding, preparation and clean-up work as it's needed in the shop.

  • Eric Jones, Bryan Whitford, Eric Whitford, and John Shaw
Building the cabinets and fixtures is only part of the equation here at Equity. We also offer full-service installation, and that requires a nimble, fully-qualified team of installers. Eric J. is the lead installer and typically runs the crew on larger jobs. His complement is Bryan, who brings a truck full of tools and a mind full of know-how to tackle most challenging situations. John acts as the lead on loading and delivery to each job site. Eric W. and John are fairly new to the trade, but they are both intelligent and capable, usually acting as "backup" on complicated projects to round out our 4-star installation crew. On the job site, they are best recognized by their Equity t-shirts; after a job is complete, you know they were there by the high-quality work they leave behind.

Our office staff, shop crew and installers all know how to create and deliver quality architectural millwork built on time and to your specifications. They also know how to relax and have a good time! If you wish, you may view a slideshow of our 2004 Fishing Cruise.
